How to Change the Toner for a HP Color Laserjet 2840
Color LaserJet printers and HP Color LaserJet 2840 provides high quality output compared to inkjet printers, but only if the toner cartridges are cleaned, maintained and changed regularly. Sensors within the HP Color LaserJet 2840 are used to indicate when toner level is very low, and when that happens, the owners of the printer to replace the toner with a new cartridge.

Instructions
1 Wait until the "Toner" appears on the screen of the HP Color LaserJet 2840 printer. The printer is designed to continue printing high-quality output until the toner cartridge is completely empty.
2 Open the top cover of the printer and lift the plastic cover that covers the toner cartridge. Shake the cartridge up and gently pull free from the printer.
3 Open the box containing the new cartridge and remove all packing materials. HP uses the orange color of their packaging materials to make materials easier to detect.
4 Pull the orange tab on the left side of the toner cartridge. Remove the plastic piece at the bottom of the toner cartridge.
5 Align the arrow on the cartridge with the arrow on the printer. Carefully place the print cartridge into place, then the rock down until it clicks into place. Under the plastic cover on the new print cartridge and close the printer cover.
